VW EOS – A NEW DAY HAS DAWNED

Yes. A revolution of sorts in the sports car segment where you get a great car with sustain cowl, no leakage in the rainy season and the works- all below $30,000.

And the name fits too- VW has come out with its latest creation in the sports car segment with Eos- the goddess of dawn.

Eos is probably one of the best buys in its segment, it being a hard top convertible and all. This four seater (it actually does seat four!) comes in a range of colors and a variety of options. The best part is the duality of the car, i.e. when you want a convertible, you get exactly that with the top down and the whole car gliding through the air. When you are not in the mood for that, you push a button and you have a great, quiet and compact four seater. Is that amazing of what?

It has a 2.0 liter four cylinder engine which is turbocharged. This, along with a 6 speed manual transmission. The acceleration is meant to be ruled and the suspension provides excellent control of the vehicle.

Talking about the interiors, it comes with a variety of options like cloth or leather upholstery, or wood or metal trims- depending on your choice. The interiors are all smooth and clear- a VW specialty.

So what do we have to say? A great car with a great price and an amazing body- totally worth it and some more. Makes you feel like you are in the company of a true goddess.

The MC 12XX from Edo Competition

Edo Competition created a new version for the MC. It is the 12 XX MC with extra power and speed. The car possesses an overall improvement in terms of its engine tuning and performance parts. The new engine is capable of delivering an 800hp and an awesome speed of 242mph. Thanks to the engine modification to a decent capacity of 6.3liters.

The overall improvements caused a significant weight reduction to the model by about 100kg. The upgraded components of the new version MC 12 XX include the pistons, camshafts, titanium valve springs and the connecting rods. The engine is provided with a new exhaust manifold and a stainless steel sport catalytic converter.

Adding to these performance features is the ram air intake system that is provided with a new air filter, a fuel cooling system, a new clutch, upgraded oil pump, and new gaskets. There is significant upgrade on the brake system as well. It is fitted with ceramic brakes on all four corners, with 396-mm rotors up front and 360-mm rotors in the rear.

The modification in the suspension with its independently adjustable damping technology enables the new version of MC to be added in the league of the best performance racecars.

Lastly, the wheels of this racing model is provided with Michelin Pilot.

2007 Foose Mustang

The new 2007 Foose Mustang is a creation from Unique Performance and Foose, with the help of Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies, and the model is based on the new Ford Mustang GT. It has been named as the Foose Stallion owing to its aggressive performance and classic appearance.

The remarkable features of the Foose Stallion Edition are achieved by the combined contribution of the well-known car parts manufactures, viz., the Ford Racing Performance Parts, Hot Huesâ„¢, and Baer Brakes. Baer contributed the dual-piston front calipers that have drilled and slotted rotors to replace the front discs and the stock calipers clamp down on the raised rotors in the rear.

The customized options are available for giving the Stallion the desired looks. Whether it is appearance-based or performance-based modifications, Foose offers them all. The body of the Stallion is equipped with a modified hood, side molding, revised grille, fascias, custom side marker lights, and side “C” pillar scoops. The aerodynamic features provided at the rear of the car offer the best stability for the vehicle while driving in different conditions.

Hamann Ferrari 599 GTB

The Italian car manufacturer from Maranello finds a companion from the car-tuning world. Hamann is the name pulsing with the tuning of the Ferrari models. The latest among them is the Hamann Ferrari 599 GTB.

The better performance of the Hamann Ferrari 599 GTB can be attributed to the better quality sports header with racing catalytic converters. It is capable of generating an extra power of 39 kW/ 53bhp, thus resulting a total 673bhp. The power-to-weight ratio has been reduced by 0.3 kg per bhp from the earlier 2.5kg per bhp.

Hamann has fitted a sports rear muffler that has 90mm tailpipes on both the right and left. The sound quality is improved by the stainless-steel rear silencer.

Hamann has modified the Pininfarina design of the 599 GTB a little. The Ferrari 599 GTB that sports a front mid-engine is provided with a spoiler and thus generates better downforce on the front axle. In order to balance the appearance of the front face, Hamann offered side sill panels, and thus gave the Ferrari a commanding appearance. Another addition to the look of the Ferrari is a roof spoiler provided with a view to supply the air to the rear wing and to generate more downforce at the rear axle.

To meet the purpose of the sporty version of Ferrari in a better way, Hamann came up with an innovative three-piece diffuser. The aerodynamic components of the modified Ferrai are made of fiberglass or Carbon-Kevlar. All in all, the aerodynamic tuning of the Ferrari 599 GTB will make it qualify to be called as the best concept among the racecars.

The rims and wheels derive a new concept called the ‘Edition Race’ from Hamann. The rim is made of three –piece, ultra-light forged material, and the wheels are fitted with titanium bolts. The shining rim flange is an added attraction to the stylish design of the wheels.

Audi TT With a New Look

JE Design, a famous tuning company, has come up with a modified version of the Audi TT. Just look at the modifications that contribute to the all-new appearance and performance of the Audi TT.

The engine of Audi TT is now capable of delivering a 180kW/244 hp power output at 5100 rpm, compared to its original model that has 147kW/200hp. The speed of the JE- tuned TT is increased by 7km/h to a 247km/h while the acceleration is improved considerably; it can achieve an acceleration from 0 to 100 in just 6 seconds. The performance parts tuned by JE are approved by the German Technical Inspection Association (TUV), and thus the new-look Audi TT can boast of more credits now.

The other significant modifications made on Audi TT are in its light and sound features. The new TT is provided with a two-part front spoiler on both the left and right front of the car. The JE Design also provides a diffuser-insert in carbon-look to be used along with the 4-pipe stainless steel exhaust silencer. With this additional facility the Audi TT is further qualified for its sporty values, with its best sound absorbing quality. The exhaust silencer is provided with EC approval too.

The rear spoiler lip provides more lift reduction and thus offers a clear rear view. The spoiler parts are made of fine quality PU materials and the diffuser-insert is made of ABS plastic. These precision aerodynamic structures that are made by the CAD engineering offer better safety and smooth driving environment.

Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera

The recent Geneva Auto Show set the platform for the sleek Gallardo Superleggera from Lamborghini. The new Lamborghini is called the ‘car with the best acceleration’ in its class. The new model is featured with a power increase by 10hp and weight reduction by 220 pounds. The acceleration is improved by 0.2 seconds than its predecessor, the standard Gallardo. Superleggera is capable of an acceleration from 0 to 62mph in just 3.8 seconds. The power output of the new 5.0-liter V10 engine is 530hp.

The weight reduction in the new Lamborghini is achieved by the cutting-edge tuning. The engine hood of the new model is made of carbon fiber and polycarbonate materials. The body of the new Superleggera is fully featured with carbon-fiber technology. The rear diffuser, the underbody covering, door panels and the central tunnel’s covering- all these are featured with carbon fiber. Additional cut is achieved by changing the glass surfaces with transparent polycarbonates.

The Superleggera is featured with attractive sports package. It is provided with shock absorbers. Another important addition is the suede-covered steering wheel. To add to the modern features is the e-gear box, which enables the gear change automatically.

Superleggera is available in four colors – Midas yellow, Borealis Orange, Telesto Gray, and Noctis Black. Apart from the standard additions, the Superleggera is available in various specifications. You may request a model with an additional multimedia system with navigator and CD-changer, a rear video camera, a four-point seatbelt (not available for USA), a fixed rear spoiler, and carbon-ceramic brakes, and many more.

Lancer Evolution IX MR FQ-360

The Lancer Evolution IX MR (Mitsubishi Racing) is the last in the Lancer Evolution that started in the 1992. Only one version of the IX MR is available now. The Mitsubishi Racing is featured by the 366 hp 2.0-liter turbo engine. The higher performance of the car can be attributed to the subtle changes that are made in the new model. The titanium-aluminum alloy turbo fins together with the compressor wheel with reduced inlet diameter are some of the advanced features that are responsible for better engine performance.

Mitsubishi Motor’s tuning division Ralliart and independent tuning specialists HKS offer a lot of tuning options for the new model. The desired output can be up to 366bhp at 6887 rpm and 363lb ft of torque at 3200rpm. MIVEC, the variable valve timing technology from Mitsubishi improves the engine efficiency further resulting in less fuel consumption. The Lancer Evolution FQ-360 has got better external features too.

The carbon fiber front lip spoiler is a new attraction of this model. It not only provides better downforce to the engine, but also improves the high-speed stability. The carbon fiber vortex generator is fitted at the rear. The Lancer Evolution FQ-360 is called as the most affordable supercar. It has the capacity to sprint 0-60mph in 3.9 seconds and to reach a top speed of 157 mph.

Compared to its competitors, this is a better performance for a better price. For example, The Porsche 911 Carrera 4S, which costs almost double that of Lancer Evolution FQ-360, takes about 4.8 seconds to sprint 0-60mph.
